Beaverton lies 75 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, lending to its marine air.

Interesting Facts/Historic Buildings and Places In the early days, the village that is now Beaverton was called “Chakeipi” by the Native American tribe, which means “Place of the Beaver.” Learning this, the early settlers referred to the then village as “Beaver Dam,” which was later changed to Beaverton.
